The Democratic campaign launched an election video in Spanish on Thursday, aimed at Latino voters, in which it claims the “determination“which was acquired by its candidate, the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, for being the daughter of migrants.
The video will air on television, radio and digital platforms in key states, especially during events with high audiences for the Latino community, such as the Olympic Games, soccer and baseball games, game shows and soap operas.
“When you are raised by a migrant mother, you know what is possible with determination. And determination is how Kamala Harris started working at a McDonald’s and rose to become a prosecutor, a state attorney general, a U.S. senator, and our vice president.“, says the spot, illustrated with images from the candidate’s life.
The campaign claims that as prosecutor, Harris protected the Hispanic community from “violent criminals” and “defeated the banks that left families homeless”.
As vice president, the video says, “She fights every day for women’s reproductive rights and defeated pharmaceutical companies to lower the price of insulin and drugs.”.
“How our president will work determinedly to stop corporations from ripping off our families on the cost of rent and food”, he promises.
Kamala Harris was born in 1964 in California to a Jamaican father and an Indian mother, and identifies as a black woman with South Asian roots.
She and her newly appointed number two, vice presidential hopeful Tim Walz, are currently touring key states for the November election, which will take them to Arizona on Thursday and Nevada on Friday, both with a high Latino population.
