“I recognize and will recognize the referee, the official bulletins, and I will make sure they are respected. “The electoral referee’s word will be holy and I call on the 10 presidential candidates and the 38 political parties to publicly declare that they will respect the official bulletin of the organization,” the president told reporters after voting in western Caracas.

He has reiterated what he has said throughout the campaign: that His candidacy is “the only guarantee of peace” in the country. Asked about his recognition of the results in case of losing the election, he stressed that the CNE bulletin “will be not only recognized, but defended, in perfect civil-military union,” and he assured that everything will turn out well.
