Agents of the National Police have stopped in Barcelona one of the most wanted fugitives by the Italian authorities, a fugitive who appeared on the list of this country of the “most dangerous fugitives” since he was known in criminal circles as a person close to the so-called Roman Camorra.

According to the National Police this Saturday, about the arrested There was a European Arrest Warrant issued by the Italian authorities since he had been sentenced to prison, trafficking in large quantities of narcoticsspecific cocaine, hashish and marijuana, between Spain and Italy. According to the police, the investigation began when they received a communication from the Italian authorities informing them that a dangerous fugitive had escaped and that he could be in Spain.

Police sources added that the international cooperation mechanism of the European Network of Fugitives (ENFAST) was immediately activated between the Spanish and Italian authorities to exchange information in real time on the investigation and to be able to locate and arrest the fugitive.

Initial investigations by investigators yielded a first line of research in Ibiza, where the fugitive could be hiding, since they detected that people from his closest circle could be on the island. Finally, “and thanks to the mechanisms of international cooperation”, it was learned that people close to the arrested man could take a flight from France to the city of Barcelona to meet the wanted man, so a surveillance and monitoring device was immediately established to cover the arrival at the airport.

After their arrival, these people took a taxi and a follow-up was initiated detecting that another person was giving them instructions via mobile phone, probably with recommendations on security measures to be adopted, since they got out of the taxi to quickly take another one. Despite the security measures adopted, the monitoring was continued. to the outskirts of the city of Barcelonawhere they were met by the fugitive himself on the public road, who was quickly arrested by the agents.
