Joe Biden withdraws his candidacy for re-election to the US presidency

The president of the United States, Joe Bidenannounced his withdrawal from his candidacy for presidential reelection through a letter in which he thanked those who supported him.

“I believe that it is best for my party and the country for me to step down and concentrate solely on fulfilling my duties as president for the remainder of my term,” wrote.

The diplomat supported Kamala Harriscurrent vice president and member of her ticket for re-election, as her successor on the Democratic ticket to maintain the country’s presidency.

“My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all of my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My first decision as the party’s nominee in 2020 was to elect Kamala Harris as my vice president,” she wrote on her official X account.

“It was the best decision I ever made. Today I want to offer all my support and backing for Kamala be our party’s nominee this year. Democrats: It’s time to unite and defeat Trump,” held.
