The decision was made on Tuesday, July 16, by the finance ministers of the EU countries at a meeting in Brussels. This confirmed the unofficial information from Polish Radio correspondent Beata Płomecka from the end of May regarding the schedule for approving changes to the KPO. The European Commission gave its consent a dozen or so days ago.
Changes in the KPO. These include subsidies for electricians, funding for hospitals and aid for farmers
“It has been delivered. The EU Council has just adopted a revision of the KPO. Now it is time for intensive investments. In September we are submitting two applications for payment. And at the end of the year another, even larger than the previous one, transfer for Poland” – .
The corrections in the National Reconstruction Plan include subsidies for the purchase of electric vehicles, which will replace the tax on combustion cars, as well as additional money for the insulation of multi-family buildings, hospital funding and aid for farmers. Poland will soon send Brussels more applications for the payment of money. So far, it has submitted only one application and received 6.3 billion euros and a 5 billion advance payment. In total, Warsaw wants to receive around 23 billion euros in 2024.
KPO for Poland. By when does the government have to spend the money?
The entire available pool for Poland is 60 billion euros. We have until the end of 2026 to spend this money. Poland is catching up on the backlog from the last two years, when the money was blocked due to the European Commission’s allegations about the lack of independence of the judiciary.
