New case of police brutality in the US: an agent savagely tramples a handcuffed black man

An Indiana police officer, in the US, is charged with two felonies after his department published a video in which he appears stomping on the head of a black man homeless while being arrested.

This is Sergeant Eric Huxley, 43, a 14-year veteran of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, whom is accused of misconduct and assault with bodily injury, has informed the Police.

Federal authorities are also investigating Huxley’s conduct in the Sept. 24 arrest of Jermaine Vaughn, 39, who was handcuffed and on the ground when another officer’s body camera captured Huxley approaching him and he brutally trampled his head with his left foot.

Police Chief Randal Taylor has assured that the attacks committed by Huxley they were “scandalous” and “totally unjustified”, for which he has been suspended from salary and they are studying his dismissal.

“I’m upset. It pains me to see that one of our officers treats someone the way they are going to see. There is no excuse for that“Taylor said, referring to the body camera video.” I promised this community, and I promised our officers, that it would be transparent. That’s in the good times and the bad. This is a bad moment, “he added.

Acting US Attorney for Southern Indiana, John E. Childress, has assured that they are investigating the case: “The United States Attorney’s Office is aware of the incident involving an IMPD officer and Jermaine Vaughn. Our office and the FBI have opened an investigation, and if the investigation reveals actionable violations of any federal criminal statute, the Department will take appropriate action. “
