Luis Arce, president of Bolivia, denounced “irregular mobilizations of some army units” in a post on the social network X, while armed forces were seen meeting in La Paz, according to videos shared on social networks.

Former Bolivian president Evo Morales, also in a message on “the coup d’état is brewing.”

Television images showed at least two military tanks and a group of soldiers in front of the government headquarters, who later entered the palace.

The president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, said that the country “is going through an attempted coup d’état”in response to a military movement led by the general commander of the Bolivian Army, Juan José Zuñiga, who broke down the doors of the Executive headquarters in the city of La Paz.
