Peruvians traveling to member countries of the Andean Community (CAN) will be able to use their postpaid mobile line without surcharges for international roaming from January 1, 2022, reported the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC).
This benefit implies that they will not have to pay more for their telephone rate plans that include voice, SMS and data services, in the countries of Bolivia, Colombia and Ecuador.
“It is good news to start the new year, as it will allow the brother countries of the Andean Community to unite more so that their citizens can use their lines without surcharges when they arrive in any of the four nations.”, Highlighted the head of the MTC, Juan Silva.
Traveler friend, from January 1, 2022, no extra payments will be made for the international roaming service in voice, data and SMS in Bolivia, Colombia and Ecuador.

International roaming service providers may not under any circumstances condition or charge additional charges or retail rates other than those established for the use of this service.
This wholesale rate scheme for the international roaming service was approved by the Andean Community on October 29. It is worth mentioning that the idea was raised in 2017 at the CAN.
“The MTC promotes measures to sustain the needs of the new digital economy and the international mobility of the end users of the mobile telecommunications service”, Indicated the minister.
