Grant Bailey, in his fifties, who works for an NGO in Afghanistan, has not given news since Saturday and his arrest was made at gunpoint, according to a British security source quoted by the publication.
“We are aware of the arrest of a British citizen in Afghanistan and we maintain contact with his family to support him,” said a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in London.
After being contacted, Taliban officials did not immediately respond.
The concern grows since it is not known what happened to him, where he is being detained and why, according to the Daily Mirror, which indicates that Bailey would have returned to Afghanistan in September, after the new seizure of power in that country by the Taliban. (I)
