A320 commander Andrei Litvinov, who has worked at Aeroflot for 28 years, announced that the report on the investigation of the incident with the Ural Airlines in 2019 (popularly called the “miracle in the cornfield”) will never be published. Contrary to public opinion, he believes that the crew of the Airbus А321 did not save, but almost killed their passengers, who were helped to survive only by a happy coincidence.
Andrei Litvinov agreed with the opinion of the leading channel “Edition”, who believes that the crew did not remove the chassis in time, which almost led to fatal consequences. “Nobody landed this plane, it flew where God sent it – corn softened the blow,” 66.ru quotes the pilot.
He emphasizes that the results of the investigation of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC), which have not been published either in preliminary or final form, are necessary not in order to punish those responsible, but in order to prevent such situations from recurring.
The “miracle in the cornfield”, or the emergency landing of the Airbus А321 liner, took place on August 15, 2019, shortly after departure from the Zhukovsky airport near Moscow. None of the 233 passengers were injured. According to the version available today, the cause of the emergency was the collision of the plane with a flock of seagulls. Pilots Damir Yusupov and Georgy Murzin received the title of Hero of Russia.
