David Copperfield, the famous 67-year-old American magician, has been accused of sexual assault of a total of 16 women, of which half of them were minors, according to ‘The Guardian’. The attacks took place from the late 1980s until 2014.

Of the accused, three of them blame the famous person for drugging them and then having non-consensual sexual relations, and some could even be 15 years old, although it is possible that Copperfield did not know their age. At the moment, he denies all the facts and accusations of the 16 women.

‘The Guardian’ has assured that these accusations are being studied as part of a series of interviews carried out with a total of more than 100 people and judicial and police records that support the accusations of the 16 women. All of them knew the illusionist through his work, that is, they were people who were within the magic guild.

In the conversations that the British media’s journalists had with the alleged victims of Copperfield, who after the #MeToo movement that was launched on social networks, gained the necessary strength to talk about their alleged experiences with the magician. Of the 100 people who have participated in making the accusation of sexual assault public, only some agreed to be named in ‘The Guardian’ articles.

Copperfield’s lawyers, after having denied the acts of which he is accused, have notified the British newspaper that “he has never acted inappropriately with anyone, much less with any minor.” The magician’s defenders have claimed that a “truthful” description of Copperfield would describe his “kindness, shyness and treatment of men and women with respect.”

They have also stated that the accused is a faithful defender of the previously named movement, #MeToo, encouraging women to come forward and not be afraid to tell their story both on social networks and in the media in order to cut root the alleged cases of sexual assault and harassment. They also said that “numerous false accusations” had previously been made against him.
