Ukraine has once again accused Russia of having used cluster bombs in their last deadly attack in the port city of Odessa. The seriousness of the use of this type of weapon lies in the fact that it is prohibited in more than a hundred countries due to its enormous destructive power.

A security camera has captured the moment in which numerous simultaneous explosions occurred at a very short distance of the city’s port, one of the white most punished by Russia. It has also reached the iconic Odessa Castle, popularly known as Harry Potter Castle.

The attack has left five dead and thirty injured. Some of the victims were walking through the area at the time of the fall of the Iskander-type missile loaded with cluster munitions, which has led the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office to think that from Russia the aim was to kill the largest number of civilians possible .

In addition to causing a fire in this castle, which is located on the shores of the Black Sea in the tourist district of Arcadia and belongs to a university foundation, the cluster munition explosions damaged other buildings located in the same area. In fact, the statement from the Prosecutor’s Office adds that metal fragments and parts of the missile were found within a radius of one and a half kilometers.

According to Odessa military expert Alexander Kovalenko, this is the first time Russia has used this type of ammunition against the city. “The idea of this type of ammunition is to hit a wide area, which is what happened yesterday in Odessa, except that the blow was not directed at military targets but at civilian ones,” Kovalenko wrote on his social networks, who in turn He clarified that there were no military objectives in the area.
