The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed this Friday that there has been no damage to Iran’s nuclear facilities after the attack attributed to Israel against the center of the country.
“IAEA can confirm no damage in Iran’s nuclear facilities,” its general director, Rafael Grossi, stated in the organization’s account on X. The international organization requested, however, “extreme moderation to all” and has reiterated “that nuclear facilities should never be a target in military conflicts.”
“The IAEA is monitoring the situation very closely,” he said. The IAEA statement came after the operation supposedly launched this Friday by Israel against Iran in the province of Isfahan in retaliation for the attack suffered last Saturday, according to US media.
Iran has denied the missile attack, although he has assured that the anti-aircraft defenses have shot down several drones. In fact, Iranian state television first reported the sound of “loud explosions” in the central province of Isfahan, which it attributed to the downing of drones by the country’s air defenses.
In Isfahan there is Natanz, the area where one of Iran’s nuclear facilities is located. Neither the Israeli government nor the Pentagon have officially recognized the operation.
