The president of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, was interrupted this Wednesday when she was about to begin giving a speech at an event on security and defense by an assistant who has accused him of having “the blood of Palestinian children” on his hands.
When the German politician was going to read her speech at the European defense and security summit being held in Brussels, One of the attendees raised his voice to accuse Von der Leyen of “helping the genocide in Gaza”, and reproached him for expressing “total support for Israel at the beginning of this genocide.”
“The blood of Palestinian children is on your hands,” shouted the individual, who also called the president of the EC “criminal.” Furthermore, the assistant pronounced the phrase “Free Palestine.”
Almost immediately, after shouting at the president of the EC, that person was taken out of the conference room. Von der Leyen has been characterized by his firm support for Israel after the terrorist attack committed by the Hamas group on October 7.
