The Covid passport to travel through the EU will expire nine months after the vaccination, as reported by the European Commission in a statement on Tuesday. The measure will begin to apply as of February 1, 2022.
Brussels explains that it has made this decision following the recommendations of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) of the European Union. This organism remembers that the booster doses of the vaccine must be inoculated six months after receiving the initial complete regimen.
An extra period of three months is added to guarantee that the vaccination campaigns of each country can be adapted and its citizens have access to this third booster dose, which with the arrival of omicron is highly recommended.
In Spain, The third dose of the vaccine has already been approved for those over 50 years of age and for those who are between 40 to 49 years old who were immunized with AstraZeneca.
