Egypt conducts first airdrop of humanitarian aid in Gaza Strip

The Air Force of Egypt carried out this Tuesday the first air launch of humanitarian aid in the north and center of the Gaza Stripwhere it dropped a total of 50 tons of emergency medical assistance in collaboration with Jordan and Emirates, according to Egyptian state television Al Qahera News.

The media, which cites high-level Egyptian sources on condition of anonymity, published that this action is part of Egypt’s efforts to intensify its assistance by land and air. “to relieve the affected areas in the northern Gaza Strip and provide them with urgent aid.”

This is the first air launch of humanitarian aid that Egypt has carried out since the war broke out more than four months ago and this Tuesday it managed to launch 10 tons of food and humanitarian aid in areas of the northern Gaza Strip in a first batch .

Jordan also participated in the operation, through the kingdom’s Hashemite Charitable Organization and the support of UN Women, which launched another 40 tons of health packages to distribute among the women of Gaza, the Jordanian news agency, Petra, reported today.

Since October 7, Jordan has made 15 airdrops of aid, in addition to sending 60 planes with supplies to Egypt to transport aid through the Rafah border crossing.

In the war in Gaza, 29,878 people have already died, after 96 Gazans died in the last 24 hours, according to data from the local Ministry of Health, while more than 70,200 have been injured since the start of the conflict.
