A man armed with a bow and arrows kills five people in Norway

The police have arrested the aggressor, but have not offered further details of the attack in which two other people have also been injured.

Five people have died and two others have been injured in an attack carried out by a man armed with a bow and arrows in the Norwegian city of Kongsberg (southwest of Oslo), as confirmed by the Police.

The aggressor, of which no further details have been given, remains detained, but he has not yet been questioned, so the police do not want to speculate on his motives.

“We believe that it is a single person who has committed the acts. It is natural to analyze whether it is a terrorist act. But the individual has not yet been questioned and it is too early to say anything,” the chief explained at a press conference Southwest District Police Officer, Øyvind Aas.

Aas revealed that one of the wounded, both hospitalized, is a policeman who was in a supermarket and had a day off.

The Police received at 18:13 local time (16:13 GMT) a notice that a man armed with a bow and arrows was moving through the center of that city, and he has been arrested at around 18:45 hours, later of a “confrontation”.
