UFC top fighter and former light heavyweight champion John Jones has been suspended from training at the Jackson Wink Gym due to alcohol problems and being arrested for domestic violence, his trainer Mike Winkeljonn told The MMA Hour. His words are quoted by Gazeta.ru.
“I was shocked by this news with his wife. Most of all, his daughters called the police themselves. I myself am the father of three daughters, I teach them self-defense and hear that. John is suspended from training, he cannot come to our gym. He can return when he quits drinking and improves his life. I beg him to stop drinking. And I had to create a precedent for my other guys in the gym – you can’t behave like that. So John is no longer in our room, ”said Winkeljon.
On September 24, it became known that the former UFC champion was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. In March 2020, an American was detained for drunk driving and carrying a weapon.
Earlier, the head of the UFC, Dana White, said that he was no longer surprised by the events taking place with John Jones and believed that Las Vegas was not created for him, because it was there that he constantly had problems.
Jones is the best fighter in the UFC without weight class. Also, the American is the former light heavyweight champion of the organization. The fighter moved to the heavy weight category.
