During the meeting, the Elysée leader stated that “There is a desire among European countries to receive injured children from Gaza for treatment,” Jordan’s official Petra news agency reported.

Macron underlined France’s desire to increase humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, in coordination with the Hashemite kingdom, and welcomed the “announcement of the initiation of procedures to facilitate the transit of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom crossing.”

Likewise, the French president thanked Jordan for its efforts to “achieve peace on the basis of the two-state solution”with the aim of guaranteeing the security and stability of the region, while recognizing the work of the UN to double aid for the Palestinian enclave through the two field hospitals in the Strip.

Abdullah II of Jordan reiterated the need for the entire world to push for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and to protect civilians, as “The continuation of Israeli aggression will have disastrous consequences for the entire region.”

The Hashemite monarch also warned of the “hostile actions carried out by extremist settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank” and the violations of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, “which could lead to the situation in the West Bank getting out of control.”

He extended this warning against any attempt to separate the West Bank and Gaza Strip and reiterated the need to implement the two-state solution to achieve peace and stability in the region.

Macron’s visit to Jordan will last until tomorrow and includes a Christmas meal with French troops abroad, which in this case will be at an air base that France installed years ago on Jordanian soil to support the fight against Islamic terrorism. in Syria and Iraq.

The French politician already met with the king of Jordan on October 25, during a brief tour of the Middle East after the start of the current conflict in Gaza, in a meeting in which he announced the sending of a ship to support the Gaza hospitals.
