At least 17 people have been injured after the collision of two trains occurred this Sunday night between the Italian cities of Faenza and Forlí, in the northern region of Emilia-Romagna, without further details about the accident having been clarified.

The collision occurred between a regional train and a high-speed Frecciarossa, when both were traveling at low speed. on the Bologna-Rimini line. The first images showed a regional train and a Frecciarossa 1000, both of the latest generation, damaged in their front parts but without having derailed. After delays of several hours in railway circulation and the cancellation of several trains, at 05:00 in the morning today (04:00 GMT), the public railway company Trenitalia has reported that the situation had normalized.
