A school and nursery in Aberfan have been confined after a “serious attack” committed this Tuesday in South Wales in which a 29-year-old woman has been stabbed. As a precautionary measure, the closure of both educational centers has been recommended and Citizens have been asked to avoid the area.
“Emergency services are responding to a serious attack on Moy Road, Aberfan, shortly before 09:10 GMT this morning. There are armed officers in the area and We ask that people avoid the area so that we can address this incident effectively,” said a spokesperson for the South Wales Police. Subsequently, the police force stated on its social networks that a woman has been stabbed and the suspect is being soughtwho has left the crime scene.
For its part, a spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service has reported that a air ambulance has traveled to the area and taken one person to the University Hospital of Wales.
The educational centers that have been closed are the Greenfield school, dedicated to serving children with special needs, and the Trinity Childcare & Family Center daycare. Greenfield principal Rhiannon Stephens Davies has told parents that, “as a precautionary measure,” students will be kept safe inside the building and “all perimeter doors are closed.”
