The GTA 6 trailer breaks records and Rockstar reveals new details. We know who definitely won’t play

After publishing the first GTA 6 trailer, Rockstar revealed further details about the game. We already know what hardware platforms the game will be available on. Yes, PC users will enjoy it again.

On the night from Monday to Tuesday, Rockstar presented the trailer for the continuation of the Grand Theft Auto series, awaited by players. Initially, the creators wanted to do it only on Tuesday afternoon, but in the meantime the trailer was leaked online, which forced the studio to change its plans.

Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the boundaries of what’s possible when it comes to highly immersive, story-driven open world experiences

– said Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games, quoted in the official press release.

We are extremely excited to share this new vision with gamers around the world

– added.

11 hours have passed since the publication of the one-and-a-half-minute trailer, and it has already collected over 56 million views and over 6.8 million likes on YouTube. It is almost certain that in the next few days it will become one of the most popular videos in history. Suffice it to say that the post on the X platform, in which Rockstar announced the premiere of the game’s trailer, collected over 2 million likes and thus broke the record of the website belonging to Elon Musk.

Returning to the trailer itself, it is receiving very good opinions among players and journalists. Most people praise the phenomenal audiovisual setting (it is worth noting that Rockstar creates trailers using the game engine – so there is no question of cheating us with “improved” graphics). Players are also happy that the game returns to Vice City, one of the favorite locations among fans of the series.

GTA 6 in 2025 and only for consoles

At the same time, Rockstar also confirmed what we could only guess before. GTA 6 will be available to players in 2025 and will only appear on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. There will be no edition for older generation consoles (PS4/XONE). And that’s a good thing, because it’s outdated hardware that certainly wouldn’t be able to handle the world of GTA 6. Suffice it to recall the problems of CD Projekt, which insisted on releasing Cyberpunk on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

What about PC users? They won’t play GTA 6 either. At least not right away. Rockstar has already accustomed us to the fact that PC versions of its games are released one or even two years after their console premiere. This was the case with both GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.
