The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar reports that the truce in Gaza has been extended for two more days. “An agreement has been reached to extend the humanitarian truce for two more days in the Gaza Strip,” says Majed Al Ansari, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson in a publication on the X platform (Twitter).

Hamas has also made this agreement official a few hours before the truce that began last Friday expired. Hours earlier, the director of the Egyptian State Information Service, Diaa Rashwan, stated that the agreement between both parties was “close”, an agreement that would allow the release of 11 Israeli hostages by Hamas and the release of 33 Palestinian prisoners.

This same Monday, the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, asked that the truce be extended for four days to give “the much-needed respite” to the Strip. “I welcome the fact that the agreement between Hamas and Israel has led to the release of hostages and the delivery of more humanitarian aid,” Stoltenberg acknowledged.

For its part, Abdullah IIking of Jordan, has defended being working intensely to achieve in “a permanent ceasefire in Gaza as soon as possible”, as well as in the entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip and the West Bank.

This truce came into force last Friday, which included the release of 50 Israeli captives for the release of 150 Palestinians. Then, there was talk of a possible extension of the agreement of up to 10 days. In three days, Hamas has transferred 39 Israeli hostages to the Red Cross, as well as 19 other people not included in the pact.
