Peruvian Ambassador to Israel confirms release of 13 hostages held by Hamas

The ambassador of Peru in IsraelManuel Cacho-Sousa, confirmed what would be the first release of 13 Israeli hostages within the four days of ceasefire agreed between Israel and Hamas.

“They have been handed over to the Red Cross, they are already in Egypt. They are undergoing medical checks and then they will be taken to Israel. Now Israel needs to release the 39 Palestinians, which is being done right now,” he indicated in an interview with RPP.

On the other hand, the diplomat pointed out that Israel is already preparing to release the Palestinians held in the state prison.

“Buses are already at the gate of the Israeli prison to escort Palestinian citizens. In a few minutes that will be it,” she said.

Regarding the identities of the released Israelis, the ambassador indicated that “this is being handled only by the Israeli Government, and the Red Cross is verifying the state in which they have been delivered.”
