Health personnel and people trapped inside Gaza’s largest hospital rejected reports that the Israelis are helping to evacuate to babies, women and the elderly. On the contrary, they mentioned that the fighting continues right outside the facilities where the incubators remain inactive due to the lack of electricity.
Added to all this, they reported that concern is growing every moment because crucial supplies such as water, food and medicine are becoming scarce due to the number of injured people who arrive at this place.
According to information from the Ministry of Health from Gazagoverned by Hamas, it was learned that the hospital’s last electricity generator ran out of fuel, causing the death of three premature babies and four other patients. Besides, there are 36 other newborns who are at risk due to the lack of electricity.

“Unfortunately, they have not taken the fuel yet,” said spokesman Lt. Col. Richard Hecht. He added that if this fuel doesn’t work, they will look for “other solutions for the babies.”
A spokesperson for Ministry of Health, Ashraf al-Qidra, told Al Jazeera that “someone contacted the director and told him that they had 200 liters of fuel. These 200 liters give less than an hour to run the generator. “This is a mockery of patients and children.”
There is no support
The Israeli army assured that its troops would help transport the babies on Sunday and that they were in contact with Shifa staff for the prompt care of the newborns, but everything remained just words.
Medical Aid for Palestiniansa charity based in United Kingdom who helped the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit for years, questioned the military’s claim of Israel.
“The transfer of seriously ill newborns is a complex and technical process,” said the executive director, Melanie Ward, it’s a statement. “Given that ambulances cannot reach the hospital… and no hospital has the capacity to receive them, there is no indication of how this can be done safely.”

The only safe option is for Israel to stop its attack and allow the fuel to reach the hospital, the specialist said.
For his part, the Ministry of Health reported that there are still 1,500 patients in Shifa, as well as 1,500 health workers and between 15,000 and 20,000 people seeking shelter.
Extremely serious situation
Muhammed Zaqoutdirector of hospitals in Loopsaid that he Ministry of Health has not been able to update the death toll since Friday because doctors cannot reach areas affected by Israeli bombing.
“The situation is extremely serious,” he said. “Ambulances cannot reach the people under the rubble.”
