The Emelec Sports Club condemned this Sunday morning the armed attack recorded in front of the Capwell Stadium, on General Gómez Street and Av. Quito.

Sports club Emelec condemns the crimes that happened last night near our stadium, where a group of unknown persons attacked the people who were there, and some of them unfortunately lost their lives, according to the press release.

This morning, residents of the stadium stated that they regularly gather nearby to play indoors; However, this time the event was unexpectedly interrupted.

There, according to police reports, subjects in a black car, without license plates, arrived in the area and shot at a group of people.

People were left lying on the road and sidewalk, with the nervousness of witnesses who asked for help to the victims. Members of the police went to the scene.

“The first time this has happened. Those guys are athletes, they get together to play ball, play sports. We are bad. There is no security or anything,” said a resident of the area.
