The so-called “Dubai Paper Free Strategy”, launched in 2018, has been implemented in five phases that contemplated the transformation of various government agencies in this emirate.

Likewise, 45 government entities have cut their paper consumption by “more than 336 million sheets” and have saved 1.3 billion Emirati dirhams (about US $ 354 million), according to the crown prince.

The digital transformation has also meant a cut of 14 million hours of work for government employees, thanks to the automation of processes.

In the last four years, Dubai has provided 1,800 digital services and more than 10,500 key transactions through entities such as the Police, the Water and Electricity Authority, Commerce, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, courts or customs.

An example of this is that the emirate authorities have issued more than 3,000 arrest warrants electronically.

“Today represents the beginning of a new stage on Dubai’s journey to digitize life in all its aspects and guarantee consumer happiness,” added Hamdan bin Mohamed.
