According to the information, Kako’s arrival was scheduled for Wednesday night, but his flight was delayed and it is considered that he will arrive in the Andean country during the night of this Thursday, although this has not yet been confirmed, according to these sources.
For this reason, it was reported that Thursday’s activities, which included laying a wreath at the memorial to the Japanese migrants who arrived in Peru, were postponed to a date and time not yet indicated.
The Peruvian Foreign Ministry had also scheduled the welcome ceremony for the princess, which was going to be chaired by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ignacio Higueras, since Foreign Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi accompanies President Dina Boluarte on a visit to the United States, in which also includes various cabinet ministers.
Kako and Higueras were also going to participate in the presentation of the postage stamp commemorating the anniversary of diplomatic relations between both nations.
The princess, 28 years old and niece of the current emperor, Naruhito, left on Wednesday from Tokyo to Lima on a trip via Houston (United States) on an official visit initially scheduled until November 10, during which she will participate in various events. linked to the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of relations between Japan and Peru.
During his stay in Peru, he plans to meet with the resident Japanese community and the descendants of Japanese people, known as Nikkei, who make up the second largest community of descendants of the Asian country in South America.
According to information from Japan, Kako was expected to be received on a courtesy visit by Boluarte, who was also scheduled to preside over a memorial ceremony in the presence of the princess.
Kako also planned to visit Cusco, following in the footsteps of her older sister, Mako, who was in Machu Picchu when she visited the Andean country in 2019 before leaving the Imperial House after her marriage.
