The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahuaddressed his soldiers on Sunday: “We will crush you with a force you cannot even imagine and it will be devastating for Lebanon“This is how he expressed himself to the troops deployed in the north. Meanwhile, missile exchanges continue on both sides of the border and the war rhetoricMarta Maroto reports in laSexta from Beirut.

The conflict remains very localized in the southern area. So far 25 Hezbollah fighters have been killed and evacuations of settlements continue. More than 40 have been carried out with the intention of having Israel’s northern border clear in the event of a military escalation.

On Sunday afternoon, Hezbollah called for a third attack, to which Israel responded by bombing the Lebanese town of Ramia, which is now an area ghost. In a strip of about 10 kilometers near the border there are no civilians left, Maroto highlights.

The Israeli prime minister has appeared before his soldiers stating that they are facing a double battle: “We will win the battle there. It will be an absolute victory that will wipe out Hamas (…) If Hezbollah decides to enter the war, it will be committing the biggest mistake of his life” and will “miss” the conflict of 2006.

Israel’s fronts

The border between Israel and Lebanon is experiencing its most tense moment since 2006, when Israeli troops and Hezbollah fought a war with an intense exchange of fire during fifteen consecutive days. Over the past few days, the Lebanese militia has launched dozens of anti-tank missilesrockets and mortar shells towards Israeli territory, where some of its troops have tried to infiltrate, to which Israel has responded with intense artillery attacks and by air.

Although the place where Israel has the most troops is in the border with the Gaza Strip, where they claim to be hitting Hamas hard. Daniel Hagari, military spokesman for the Israeli army, reported that on Saturday night “dozens of terrorists were killed in and around Gaza City.” He has also assured that the deputy commander of Hamas’ rocket launch system “has been eliminated.”

This is where the most tanks accumulate. In this area they have had to evacuate fifty localities while waiting to receive the order to begin the ground invasion. An operation that Islamic Jihad responds with a video in which they show how they prepare the counteroffensive underground.

They want to show their lethal reach, also with ambushes like that of Khan Yunis that has forced Israel to withdraw part of its troops in the south of the Strip. If the tension was littleduring Sunday afternoon the Israeli army acknowledged having mistakenly fired at an Egyptian post near the border with Kerem Shalom, leaving wounded to two soldiers from the neighboring country.

Israel has also bombed the West Bank, specifically two mosques in the refugee camp from Jabalia. They claim that senior members of the Islamic Jihad were there.
