Abbas cancels his attendance at the summit with Biden in Amman after bombing in Gaza

The Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbascanceled this Tuesday his participation tomorrow in the quadrilateral summit in Amman with the American president, Joe Biden, after at least 500 Palestinians were killed in a bombing at a hospital in Loopcontrolled by Hamas.

“The president decided to interrupt his visit to Jordan and immediately return to national soil to hold an urgent meeting with the Palestinian leadership tonight.”reported the official Palestinian agency Wafa.

The Palestinian president also declared a three-day mourning in the Palestinian Territories following the Israeli bombing that killed at least 500 people in a Gaza hospital complex, according to local authorities.

Abbas, whose Palestinian Authority was evicted from the Gaza Strip by Hamas Islamists in 2007, condemned the “slaughter” and decreed a duel “will observe throughout Palestine for the victims of the brutal Israeli airstrike against the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza”indicated the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.
