An Israeli military base has reproduced the Gaza Strip to prepare the imminent ground incursion on their enemies. The soldiers have even replicated the graffiti to make it as realistic as possible, with blood, expressions and even hanging clothes.

“The only thing missing here is live people“Aside from the furniture and the people in the houses, everything else looks the same,” says one commander. Givati’s brigade would be among the first troops to enter Gaza in a ground invasion.

Brigadier General Bentzi Gruber explains that they build urban infrastructure to make sure “that when you fight in a town, you know how to fight in a town“: “You know who the enemy is, where they are, and who are the people you don’t want to kill.”

The houses have doors, windows, stairs… There are even wiring and street lights. It even has an underground tunnel like the ones used by Hamas. They train to, in their words, “reach and eliminate all terrorists” and they do so by simulating assaults on civilian homes.
