The images are from months ago, but chillingly prophetic: at least since December 2022 – date of the oldest video now obtained – the militiamen of Hamas testing all aspectsall phases, of his recent attacks on Israel: how to kidnaphow to storm Israeli buildings, how to parachute to take them, how to assemble weapons and explosiveshow to equip yourself for battle or how to escape from melee.
Without pause but without hurry: They spent almost two years preparing the massacreday and night, without hiding and without sparing means, documenting everything in production videos almost cinematic, which they shared on their private networks. Metadata analysis indicates that Hamas conducted the training for months before publishing the propaganda montages.
Hard training in at least six Hamas campssome fortified and others not, but all open air and some of them newly built. These camps were spread throughout the Gaza Strip, but some of them were located just a mile from Israel. That was where the kidnapping drills were recorded, practically next to the Erez Pass, the pedestrian crossing of the border through which the Palestinian militiamen began their incursion last Saturday.
A bloody weekend in which More than 1,200 people died in Israel. All the fields are surrounded by huge berms, large earthen barricades taller than the buildings, most of them roofless, made of concrete blocks and cement. Some campgrounds have gates and fences, while others have sidewalks but no pavement.
By analyzing satellite images from these months, ‘CNN’ has been able to verify not only where they were, but that they were expanding, occupying land previously dedicated, for example, to crops. Same images that never show no Israeli action against any of the six identified sites.
A nerve that further embarrasses the Israeli authorities: this Thursday, the military admitted “failures to protect civilians”but now they say that they did know this. An admission that raises the disturbing question of why the attacks were not stopped.
The Israel Defense Forces have responded, through their Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricus, that Hamas “has had many training areas” and could have made these specifically “they looked like civilians”. He has further insisted that the Israeli army has “attacked many training areas over the years.”
They are busy now, they say, in locating the ‘Nukba’, he Hamas elite commando, their spearhead, to whom they attribute the bloodiest part of the massacre. These, they maintain, are loose and try to infiltrate again to attack again in Israel.
