President Pedro Sánchez has conveyed his condolences to the young woman’s family and friends and has reiterated his strongest condemnation of the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel. “Dismayed by the news of the death of Maya Villalobo Sinvany. I want to convey my most sincere condolences to her family and friends,” said the head of the Executive.

In an interview on Al Rojo Vivo, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, confirmed the news. “Today is a sad day and there is bad news and that is that Maya Villalobo has died. I have conveyed my condolences to her father on behalf of the entire Government and that we are very close to him,” he said.

At the time of the attack, the missing young woman, 19 years old and with dual Spanish and Israeli nationality, whose father is a professor in the Department of Microbiology at the University of Seville, It was located at the base of Nahal Oz, near the Gaza border, doing military service.

In addition to her, after the attack, Iván Illarramndi Saizar, 46, a native of the Guipuzcoan town of Zarautz, where he stopped being registered in 1986, and who lives in Israel with his wife in a kibbutz two kilometers away, is also missing after the attack. of the Gaza Strip.

When the Hamas terrorists entered the Nahal Oz base, Maya Villalobo was in control of the base’s cameras. This was stated by one of her best friends. The friend has also explained that her last message was addressed to her mother, in which he told him that he was “safe and well.”
