The US investment bank JP Morgan projected on Wednesday that the year 2022 will mark the end of the coronavirus pandemic and a full global economic recovery will take place.
The bank’s outlook report for next year says that new vaccines and therapies will lead to a “strong cyclical recovery, a return in global mobility and a release from pent-up consumer demand”.
Marko Kolanovic, its chief global markets strategist and co-director of global research, said the bank expects the S&P 500 Index to rise nearly 8% to 5,050 points, emerging market stocks to rise 18% and Treasury yields. 10-year US dollars – a key driver of global borrowing costs – rise to 2.25% by the end of 2022.
“Our view is that 2022 will be the year of full global recovery, the end of the pandemic, and a return to normal economic and market conditions that we had prior to the COVID-19 outbreak.″ Stated Kolanovic.
