The Government of Spain has expressed its solidarity and condolences to Morocco for the “terrible earthquake” that has been registered last morning and that has left more than 600 dead and 300 injured.

The acting President of the Government, Pedro Sanchez, has sent, through a message on the social network X, formerly Twitter, all his support to the Moroccan people. “Spain stands with the victims of this tragedy and their families,” she wrote.

He Ministry of Foreign AffairsEU and Cooperation has published a message to show its solidarity with those affected by the earthquake, while the head of the portfolio, José Manuel Albares, has assured that his “thoughts” are “with the victims and relatives” of the tragedy.

At least 632 people have died and another 329 have been injured in different Moroccan municipalities due to the magnitude 7 earthquake in the Richter scale which was recorded this Friday night with the epicenter between Marrakech and Agadir.

The earthquake has also been felt in parts of Spain. The 112 Andalusia Emergency service has indicated that it has received more than twenty calls due to a seismic movement that has been felt in municipalities of Huelva, Seville, Malaga and Jaén“.
