The ruling party Nuevas Ideas achieved a similar advantage in voting intentions to elect deputies and mayors, backed by the strength of the public image of the controversial 42-year-old president, according to the results of the study.

Bukele has announced that he will seek re-election despite the fact that the Constitution prohibits consecutive terms.
