The Etna volcano has erupted again on the Italian island of Sicily. The new eruption of lavahas left impressive images of what is considered the volcano busiest in Europe. Etna goes through frequent eruptions that usually cover the Sicilian cities around it with ash, the last one last May.
Flights to and from the city of Catania, in eastern Sicily, were interrupted on Monday after the eruption of the nearby volcano, causing a new crisis at the Italian airport. The volcano, 3,330 meters high, erupted overnight from Sunday to Monday, spewing lava and ash over the Mediterranean island. The lava flow subsided before dawn, but ash was still coming out of one of the craters.

The mayor of Catania, Enrico Trantino, has prohibited the use of motorcycles and bicycles in the city for the next 48 hours, due to the fact that many streets were covered in ash, and has ordered vehicles not to circulate more than 30 kilometers / due time to poor pavement conditions.
