The price of the dollar in Mexico operates in the early hours of Tuesday on the rise, while investors’ attention will be focused on the monetary policy meeting of the Federal Reserve of USA.
The exchange rate is listed at 16,852 pesos per dollar, according to data from the Bloomberg agency.
The mexican economy is on track to close at a good pace in 2023, driven by the strength in consumption. In June, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) had a growth of 4%, compared to the same period of the previous year, an increase above the 3.6% reported in May, according to figures from the Timely Indicator of Economic Activity (IOAE).
If so, it would be the best data since October last year, when economic growth was 4.8%, according to data released last week by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography. (Inegi).

The currencies and stock markets of Latin America registered a mixed close the previous day, at the beginning of a week in which investors’ attention will be focused on the monetary policy meeting of the Federal Reserve of USA.
The markets have already assumed a rise of 25 basis points in the reference interest rate in the world’s leading economy, but they will be attentive to the tone of the statement that accompanies the decision, in search of clues about future movements by the fed.
“A new interest rate hike by the Fed will come as a surprise to no one, therefore, the markets’ attention will be focused on the statement released or possible statements by (Fed Chairman Jerome) Powell,” said an operator.
