They offer 5 million dollars for information for the arrest of the stepson of the Mexican cartel leader Jalisco Nueva Generación

This reward complements others previously offered by the State Department against Oseguera-Cervantes himself, alias “El Mencho”

The US Government offered this Wednesday $ 5 million for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Juan Carlos Valencia González, whom it identifies as the stepson of the leader of the Mexican Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG), Nemesio Oseguera-Cervantes .

State Department spokesman Ned Price said in a statement that Valencia González is an “alleged high-level member” of that gang, considered one of the most violent drug cartels in Mexico.

Price added that Valencia González has been indicted in the US for conspiracy and drug distribution, as well as for the use of firearms in “a narcotics transaction.”

This reward complements others previously offered by the State Department against Oseguera-Cervantes himself, alias “El Mencho”, and by one of the cartel’s regional leaders, Audias Flores-Silva, nicknamed “Gardener”.

“These actions are part of the US Government’s global approach to fight drug trafficking and transnational organized crime both generally and specifically against the CJNG in Mexico,” Price said.

El Mencho, one of the most wanted criminals in Mexico and the United States, leads the cartel with the fastest growth, expansion and one of the most violent on Mexican soil.

The United States Anti-Drug Agency (DEA) offers a reward of 10 million dollars for information that leads to the capture of El Mencho, while the Mexican authorities offer 30 million pesos (1.44 million dollars).

Headquartered in the city of Guadalajara, the group operates in at least 24 of the 32 Mexican states and distributes large quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and fentanyl in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Atlanta. (I)
