Earthquake in Peru has caused four injuries and 867 victims so far

The damage is concentrated in several municipalities in the Amazon region, in northern Peru, close to the epicenter of the earthquake, located 98 kilometers east of the town of Santa María de Nieva, where the earthquake was felt with a very strong intensity .

Damages were also reported to infrastructures in the neighboring regions of Loreto, San Martín, Cajamarca and in the interior part of the department of Lambayeque, according to the Prime Minister of Peru, Mirtha Vásquez, who from early in the morning coordinated the damage assessment at the COEN facilities.

From Colombia, where no damage has been reported at the moment, its president, Iván Duque, expressed his solidarity with Peru on Sunday and offered help if required.
