Fourth wave of COVID-19 in Europe: the measures of the most affected countries

The coronavirus has resurfaced in Europe for a couple of weeks. The figures have shown it and the authorities restored the restrictions to avoid more infections.

A new variant

Russia

Germany

The health authorities have also reinforced some measures to prevent the new variant from reaching their territory.

The President of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for Virology, Lothar Wieler, recalled that Germany It has already exceeded the 100,000 death toll from or with COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

Thus, the country has invested in transferring several intensive patients with COVID-19. In the same way, they keep calling on citizens to get vaccinated.

Austria, the Netherlands and Belgium

All three countries have opted for stricter measures, such as partial quarantines. In some cases, citizens have taken to the streets to protest.

It should be noted that Belgium registered the first case of coronavirus omicron in European lands.

France
