Lesley is 13 years old. For 40 days, managed to survive and keep his three brothers alive in the Colombian jungle, a thick jungle with permanent humidity and sweltering heat inhabited by wild animals and poisonous plants.
The little ones ended up in that situation after the plane they were traveling in crashed to the ground, causing their mother to lose her life along with the pilot and a family friend. indigenous people of the village uitotothey learned to build shelters in the jungle, as well as to know what fruits could be eaten.
It was the indigenous people who helped the military to rescue the little ones, while the armed forces helped the little ones by throwing them food kits and leaflets saying they were looking for them.
“We are going to slowly start nutritional support therapy, which is now key. We are going to be more or less talking two to three weeks of hospitalization if things are on the right track”, says doctor Carlos Rincón.
The minors barely had superficial injuries and nutritional deficiency, despite having survived 40 days in the Amazon jungle.
