There are no prerequisites for negotiations with Ukraine yet. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin, fragments published in Telegram.

“We see the unwillingness of the regime, unpreparedness, impermissibility of the regime on the part of the owners, so to speak, so there are no prerequisites for negotiations,” Peskov said. According to him, so far there is not even a foundation, “even a flimsy one,” to build a dialogue with Kiev.

Earlier, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow are possible if the latter changes the goals of the special operation. As RBC reported with reference to the Ukrainian media, Reznikov stressed that Ukraine can live peacefully, “normally, in a good-neighborly manner with all neighbors.” At the same time, the minister recalled that Moscow set as its goal the “denazification”, “demilitarization” and “deNATOization” of Ukraine. In his opinion, the essence of these tasks is to “wipe the Ukrainian nation off the face of the earth, because we allegedly do not exist from their point of view.” In addition, he noted that China and other states that propose their peace plans “compete for the role of a mediator in the negotiations.” In his opinion, in their actions “there is one nuance: they all still want to be mediators on the side of Russia.” He concluded that since such states do not have “real independent mediation” and impartiality, then Kyiv “will wait and continue to achieve victory.”
