The Armed Forces of Ukraine have started at some points “offensive actions“, recognized this Monday the Vice Minister of Defense, Hanna Malyarwhich has reported assumptions advances in the Bakhmut areaone of the main combat fronts with the Russian troops in recent weeks.

Malyar has explained that Ukrainian defense “includes everything”which also involves counterattacks to which Kyiv prefers not to give special consideration for now, after speculating that a new offensive is imminent to try to recover lost territories in the east.

Bakhmut “remains the epicenter of the fighting”, said the Deputy Defense Minister, who sees the Russian forces “on the defensive”, wanting to maintain their position. In this sense, she has pointed out that the allusions coming from Russia about a possible counteroffensive only seek to “divert attention” from what is happening in Bakhmut.

The Russian Armed Forces have reported on Monday an alleged interception of large-scale attacks in the Donestk region, within the framework of which more than 200 Ukrainian soldiers were reportedly killed.

The situation at the front, however, remains confused, with cross versions between the different belligerent parties and impossible to independently verify.
