Through an official note, Chelsea announced this Monday that it has reached an agreement to sign Kendry Páez, from Independiente del Valle. The 16-year-old prospect will move to English football in 2025 when he comes of age.
“Péez turned heads by scoring on his debut for the club this year, becoming the youngest ever debutant and top scorer in Ecuador’s top flight. 1 am Liberators cup over the Corinthians in early May,” Chelsea wrote.

The value of the negotiation was not officially disclosed, but journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that the Blues paid around 20 million euros for Kandry Páez. In this way, the jewel becomes Independiente del Valle’s biggest sale.
“The club aims to promote talent from young players in order to strengthen Ecuadorian football. Accordingly, we are pleased to announce the agreement with Chelsea, from England, for the transfer of Kendry Páez”, declared Independiente del Valle.
The Ecuadorian midfielder made his professional debut this season and has already entered the pitch six times. Páez scored a goal against Mushuc Runa, for the first round of the Ecuadorian Championship. The athlete was with the South American team at the U-20 World Cup, in Argentina, until he was eliminated by South Korea, in the round of 16.
