The cabin crew of the easyjet airline in Portugal ended today a five-day strike for salary improvements and labor that led to the preventive cancellation of 386 flights, according to union sources.
During the five days that the stoppage lasted, which took place on May 26, 28 and 30 and June 1 and 3, only flights marked as minimum services operated, said Ana Dias, from National Union of Civil Aviation Flight Personnel (SNPVAC).
The follow-up to the strike amounted to 100%, according to the SNPVAC, while EasyJet pointed these days to adhesion figures that oscillate between 50% and 60%.
The airline preemptively canceled 386 flights when the union announced the strike, to demand wage and labor improvements similar to those in other countries where the company operates.
The union ensures that EasyJet never updated the salaries and conditions of the crew in Portugal and that the differences with countries like France or Germany reach 125%.
Negotiations were suspended during the strike and the SNPVAC He hopes that the airline will be in contact as of next Monday.
“If the company does not present a serious proposal, we will go on strike again”Dias said.
