A Chinese warship dangerously approached the American destroyer USS Chung-Hoon in the Taiwan Strait. The ships were at a distance of less than 137 m, representatives of the US Indo-Pacific Command confirmed.
The incident occurred during a joint US-Canadian mission in the Taiwan Strait.
According to the US military command, the Chinese destroyer PLA (N) LUYANG III “performed unsafe maneuvers in the Chung-Hoon area, overtook Chung-Hoon on the port side and crossed its bow at a distance of 137 meters.” To avoid a collision, the US destroyer had to change course and slow down.

Earlier in May, there was another incident involving the military of the United States and China.
