The controller of one of the largest banks in Bolivia dies in an unclear situation

The body of Banco Fassil controller, Carlos Colodro, was found lifeless after he allegedly fell from the 15th floor of a building in the Bolivian city of Santa Cruzin a fact of which there is still no report from the authorities.

Colodro’s death was confirmed this Sunday morning by the Financial System Authority (ASFI)who published an obituary notice on their social networks to communicate “the sensitive death” who was also its Director of Operations.

The day before, around midnight, it was reported that a man fell from the 15th floor of a building in the eastern city of Santa Cruz, for which the Police and the prosecution They appeared at the scene to carry out the first inquiries.

After several minutes, it emerged that the body found was that of the Fassil controller, one of the largest in bolivianwhile the action of the authorities extended until this morning when they carried out the legal removal of the body.

Until now there has been no report of what happened by the authorities linked to the investigation.

“My condolences to the family of Mr. Carlos Colodro. I accompany you in this tragic moment of so much pain and I ask for a prompt investigation to clarify his death “wrote in Twitter the state attorney, Wilfredo Chávez.

Colodro made his last public appearance this Friday to announce that the pending wages would begin to be paid to Banco Fassil workers starting Monday, following protests by employees over the cancellation of their social benefits.

One of the first actions of the intervention was “to protect the resources of savers” so now it is up to “give a treatment of the same nature to officials and workers,” Colodro said in that statement.

At the end of last month, the government appointed a comptroller in the Fassil Bank for other financial entities to take charge of customer deposits and to carry out the “migration” of accounts and other services.

ASFI attributed the crisis at Banco Fassil to the “bad practices of its executives and managers and, above all, of the irregular management of the commercial and business businesses of the shareholders and managers of its business group.”

For this reason, several of the main executives of the entity were criminally prosecuted and are in jail.

The Fassil crisis coincided with the lack of liquidity of Dollars in the Bolivian financial system a couple of months ago.
