The project to install efficient air conditioners in Galapagos advances

The Ecuadorian Ministry of Energy and Mines advances in the Project “Replacement of Air Conditioners of Energy consumption Inefficient in the Province of Galapagos-PAAG”, in order to reduce energy consumption in the residential sector of the archipelago.

This, thanks to the replacement of inefficient air conditioners, with new and more efficient equipment.

The project contemplates, in its initial part, the presentation of the management model to be executed, for which it has requested suppliers, contractors, installation or implementers of air conditioning equipment and/or air conditioning systems, with experience in installation and logistics , send an email to [email protected]until June 9, if you are interested in participating.

Hundreds of teams

The Air Conditioner Replacement Project contemplates the installation of 2,500 Split-type units of 12,000 BTU capacity, INVERTER technology, until 2025, in three cantons of the Galapagos.

The commercialization by a qualified supplier will contemplate the delivery, installation and configuration of the new conditioners, as well as the removal of obsolete equipment through an environmental manager, the Ministry explained in a statement.

For its part, the Galapagos Provincial Electric Company will charge the beneficiaries of the PAAG projectconsidering financing terms from 12 to 36 months and/or cash payments.

The Ministry recalled that it promotes plans and projects to promote energy saving in Ecuador.

The Galapagos archipelago is located about a thousand kilometers from the Ecuadorian continental coast and was declared in 1978 as Natural Patrimony of Humanity for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco)
