The Russian President, Vladimir Putindefended this Thursday the voluntary reduction of extraction of Petroleum in the country to support its price in world markets.
“We are reducing extractions, but nevertheless an adequate level is maintained,” said the head of the Kremlin in a meeting with members of the Government
He warned that oil prices in world markets are subject to fluctuations.
“But all our actions, including the voluntary reduction in extractions, obey precisely the need to support a certain price situation in world markets through dialogue and contact with our OPEC+ partners,” Putin stressed.
Last March, Russia announced that it would voluntarily cut oil extractions by 500,000 barrels per day compared to the February level, a measure that it later extended until next July and, subsequently, together with other partners of the OPEC+ alliance until the end of the year.
